Chival is Modular Lighting Instruments' architectural wall luminaire, designed by Frederik Delbart. He drew inspiration from medieval coats of arms that once lined grand halls, pairing that sense of craft with contemporary lighting technology. The form is defined by a precise fold and calm vertical balance, with rounded corners that soften the geometry.

Light is delivered as controlled up-and-down beams that follow the luminaire's height, helping emphasise wall surfaces while staying visually comfortable. Chival was Modular's first wall luminaire to offer warm dim, so the light becomes warmer as it dims — useful for more intimate interiors. For UK projects, Modular Custom finishes allow any RAL or NCS colour in matt, structured or gloss, alongside selected colour temperatures. Used alone or in groups, Chival paints the wall with light and intention.
